Think about all
the things you have experienced since becoming
a teenager and going through puberty. Imagine
you have to prepare an information leaflet for
a year 6 student giving advice about what to do
to make growing up easier. Design a leaflet and
include 5 top tips about coping with the stresses
of going through puberty.

If you had no limits
on your time or money and could have your choice
of products and/or treatments, describe your ideal
hygiene and body routine for a week.

The use of claims
such as 'Not Tested on Animals' or 'Cruelty Free'
for cosmetic and toiletry products is complex
and can provoke emotional debate. Research the
technical aspects of this (e.g. legislation, ingredient
safety and finished product testing) and then
prepare an argument either for or against the
use of animals in the safety assessment of cosmetic
and toiletry products. Be prepared to defend your
argument if your teacher sets up a class debate.

Find a selection
of teenage magazines. Look through them and cut
out any elements of advertisements for hygiene
and beauty products. Divide your pictures into
two groups, those which you consider to be essentials
and those which you consider luxuries. Make a
collage of your pictures. Complete a piece of
written work which explains why people want to
work hard at looking good and feeling better about
themselves.
