The pH scale as coloured by universal indicator

The pH scale runs from pH number 1 to pH number 14. Using the Universal indicator the colours run through the rainbow from dark red at pH1, through orange and yellow to green at pH 7 then through dark green and blue to purple at pH14. Lemon juice is pH3, toothpaste is pH9, soap is pH8, water is pH7, soft drink is pH4, hand-cream is pH7, bleach is pH 11, beer is pH 6, and a bee sting is pH5.
